Our Recent Accomplishments

The Hometown Pride Committee, through fundraising and grant efforts, purchased flower planters and several benches which have been installed in our City Park. Through donations from citizens and the local greenhouse, the committee maintains the planters and beds in the park throughout the year.

In addition to the community beautification, through those same fundraising and grant efforts, the committee has been instrumental in several improvements to the city park and playground equipment.

The Hometown Pride Committee is pleased to announce they received a grant from Warren County Philanthropic Partnership for commercial holiday lights to go around the gazebo, arbor, and shelter in our parks. These new lights are commercial-grade LED bulbs with permanent clips. They should be easier to put up and take down each year. They should last longer in the weather than the strings we have been replacing yearly. So excited!! Can’t wait for Christmas!

WCCP has been investing money into Warren County communities since 2005. Money for grants comes from an endowment held by its host Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, as well as money from the County Endowment Fund Program. The County Endowment Fund Program, implemented in 2004, distributes a percentage of the state’s gaming tax revenue to qualified community foundations in the 84 Iowa counties that do not hold a state-issued gaming license. The Hartford Hometown Pride Committee is happy to receive a $500 grant from the Carlisle Greater Community Foundation for another load of pea gravel to be added to the city park.

The Greater Carlisle Community Foundation was established in 2005 for the purpose of fundraising and grant making for special projects impacting Avon, Carlisle, Easter Lake, Hartford and Palmyra. They focus on raising funds to support projects and programs that enhance education, community betterment, arts, culture, health and human services within our region.

Through donations individuals, families, businesses, and organizations help to create permanent charitable funds. Donations to the foundation qualify for the Endow Iowa Tax Credit which can help to reduced your Iowa income tax burden.

The GCCF is always looking for volunteers who are willing to share their time and talents. Please contact them at www.greatercarlislefoundation.org or visit their Facebook page.
